Alvaro Palacios is probably the single person most responsible for bringing Priorat to the world’s attention. Acquiring the Finca Dofí and L’Ermita vineyards in the early 1990s, he has since crafted some of the awe-inspiring wines to come out of Spain, or anywhere else. With centenarian vines set on Priorat’s renowned llicorella slate/schist terroir, high-altitude, north-facing sites, organic cultivation, and microscopic yields, the wines are nothing short of profound.
