In 1967, Maurice Filliatreau gave his son, Paul, 8 hectares of his vineyard. In those days, the prestige surrounding Saumur Champigny had not yet been fully acknowledged. In 1990 Fredrik joined his father at the head of the wine-producing business. By dint of method and perseverance, Paul and Fredrik Filliatreau are now running a vineyard of more than 40 hectares. At the Filliatreau Estate, supervision of the fermentation process as well as temperature controls, technical expertise and know-how enable Paul and Fredrik to give the Cabernet Franc vine the whole richness of clay-calcareous lands of the Estate. The wine from each plot is produced separately with great care, to give each vintage its own particular flavor.
