Calogero Caruana’s farm northwest of Agrigento is a property with just two hectares of vines and one hectare of olive groves. The vineyard is set on sandy terroir, with a combination of younger and 50+ year-old Catarratto and Inzolia vines, along with some Nero d’Avola and Grillo. Calogero crafts wine based on ancient tradition, with long macerations, cask aging in the presence of flor, and a commitment to letting both the terroir and the vintage speak.
