Due to tensions between brothers Luigi and Giacomo, the Oddero family estate was split in 2006, with each getting roughly half of the original property. Today the Luigi Oddero estate is run by children Maria and Giovanni, along with winemaker Dante Scaglioni, who had been with Bruno Giacosa for 25 years. With large holdings in La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, and Serralunga d’Alba, Oddero is farmed organically and with a very light footprint on the land. In the cellar, winemaking is traditional, with fermentations taking place in concrete, and aging in very large botti. The results are Baroli that are pure, high-toned, and elegant.
