Originally an accountant by trade, Alberto Giacobbe left his job in Rome and returned full time to his family’s estate in Paliano in Frosinone. For generations the family had sold grapes to the local co-op, but Alberto believed there was much greater potential, especially if yields were lowered and an organic regimen was introduced. Sure enough, the wines from these old vines have proved to be stunning. Set on volcanic terroir, the Passerina and Cesanese vines yield wines of vibrance and intensity, with weight and depth that’s lifted and cut through by keenly honed acidity.
