Thierry Bos is the third generation of his family to head Château Bouillerot, an estate located in the Entre-Deux-Mers about 12 miles due east of Barsac. At just 9 hectares, the estate is minute by Bordeaux standards, but that small size has allowed Bos to focus on his passions: organic viticulture that is in harmony with his vineyard’s broader environment; nurturing the growth of Carmenère, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, varietals that were far more common in the pre-phylloxera era in Bordeaux than they are today; and, of course, making great wine. Certified organic since 2013, total production of around 2,000 cases.
